Affiliate Programs

Imagine advertising on 100s or even 1000s of other web sites, but only paying for visitors who actually click through to your site, or, even better yet, only if that traffic results in sales or leads. 

Affiliate programs offer cost effective advertising if you have a business and want to sell your products or services through other web sites. 

Web site marketing is easy and cost effective if you start an affiliate program. 

The idea is performance based advertising.

Affiliated web sites display your advertising but only get paid for traffic they send to your site. You only pay for the results you want, whether it's just a click through, or an actual sale or lead.  

You can start up an affiliate program by either joining an established associate network or buying affiliate software and running your own network. 

There are several different types of pay for performance commissions you can consider for your program. The first is pay per click, in which you pay your partner sites a certain amount each time one of their visitors clicks on your advertisement at their site and comes to yours. Pay per lead commissions are given if someone clicks on your ad at the other site and actually registers, submits an application, or any other action at your site (other than an actual purchase). Pay per sale commissions are the old fashioned, straight commission for a sale, which you can set as a percentage of the purchase price or as a flat fee.

Pay per lead and pay per sale are perhaps the best value, in the sense of only paying for visitors who engage in some action at your site that has a direct benefit and monetary return. Pay per click are useful for sites starting out, who are most interested initially in driving traffic to a site.
