Pay For Inclusion Search Engines

With the exception of Google, all the major search engines have gone to a paid submission model, with most now working on a pay per click basis. The problem comes in finding how to spend your money wisely and get the most value for your dollar. If you have a big budget, then by all means submit to every one.  But, if you want to start out modestly and increase your search engine budget later, then you should look for the most cost effective searchengine submissions. Yahoo remains as the one major search directory that offers inclusion for a flat fee per year

Yahoo (3 out of 4 stars) has an enormous directory (separate from the web search results provided through Site Match. Although it is expensive, at $299/year, it is a site with a large user base and a listing in the Yahoo directory may help ratings in other search engines. You can only submit your home page to Yahoo's directory, and you have to find the right category in its directory before you decide to submit your site. Non-commercial sites can still submit for free, but all commercial sites must pay.  Every submission is reviewed by an editor, who decides on the final wording of your site's description. Hold off on submitting to this site, until you have your web site in its very best and most appealing shape. Submit to Yahoo! 3 out of 4 stars
